Description: Species data was insufficient to do an inductive model, so a deductive model based on habitat type was cre-ated instead. Characteristics of important habitat were taken from BNA Online (Sedgewick 2000). As a proxy for spatial representation of high quality, continuous woody riparian areas in Southwest Colorado, both SWReGAP Rocky Mountain Lower Montane Riparian Woodland and Shrubland and National Wetland Invento-ry riparian areas were used. All areas within 300m of where both occurred were selected to include surround-ing fields and meadows. The model was restricted to the portion of southwest Colorado adjacent to the spe-cies' known range in neighboring states and as depicted in the 2011 Proposed Rule for designated critical habi-tat (FR-76-157-2011).
