Myotis volans

Scope Severity Immediacy
Low Low High
Summary Rank: G

In CO this species was found to select rock crevices over tree snags in western CO when both were available (Chung-MacCoubrey 2008; O'Shea et al. In Press).  As with M. lucifugus, this species' ability to utilize many roosting structures should minimize any large scale impacts to its population.  Due to the remote nature of the crevice and cavity roosts used by this bat surface disturbances are unlikely.  However, its tendancy to roost in large maternity colonies (O'Shea et al. In Press) may exacerbate impacts to local populations from internal disturbances to roosts when they occur.
