Lasiurus borealis

Urbanization

Scope Severity Immediacy
Insignificant Low Low
Summary Rank: H

Tree or water habitat edges near urban areas have been shown to be important to other tree roosting bats in CO (Everette et al. 2001) .  LABO in CO can be associated with riparian areas due to irrigation, so may be found near areas of urban development and could be negatively impacted by these activities.  However, as LABO are migratory, solitary, wide-ranging and not typically associated with human-made structures, urbanization may not impact their reproductive biology, etc., as much as in other species.
