Ophioglossaceae (Adder's Tounge Family)

Look Alikes: B. lunaria ssp. occidentalis has broadly fan-shaped pinnae. B. simplex has upper pinnae irregularly fused, not deeply divided.

Spore-Producing Period: July-August.

Habitat: Open exposed hillsides, burned or cleared areas, old mining sites. Elev. 9800-10,600 ft.
