Aspleniaceae (Spleenwort Fern Family)

Synonym: Asplenium adiantum-nigrum

Look Alikes: Cystopteris fragilis is far more common, has crescent or comma shaped indusia, and more finely divided leaves.

Spore-Producing Period: This species remains green throughout the year. Spores are produced July-December.

Habitat: Sandstone cliffs at White Rocks, Boulder Co. Grows in shaded cracks, crevices, and ledges on relatively dry south and east-facing cliffs. Elev. 5200 ft.
