Orchidaceae (Orchid Family)

Look Alikes: G. oblongifolia is taller (10-40 cm tall), and has longer leaves that have a conspicuous white midrib (although both species can have white markings on the crossveins). G. oblongifolia leaves are “crisped” on the margins while G. repens leaves are flat.

Flowering/Fruiting Period: Flowers late July-August.

Habitat: Shady sites on north to east-facing slopes in mixed conifer stands and along banks of small streams, in forest duff and moss. Elev. 8000-9500 ft.

Distribution: Circumboreal; Alaska to Newfoundland and south to Arizona, New Mexico, South Dakota, Tennessee, and North Carolina. In Colorado in Clear Creek, Custer, El Paso, Jefferson, La Plata, Las Animas and Mineral Cos.
