Cypripediaceae (Lady’s Slipper Family)

Look Alikes: C. calceolus var. parviflorum has a large yellow lip petal and leafier stems. Epipactis gigantea has taller stems and 3 or more alternate leaves.

Flowering/Fruiting Period: June-July.

Habitat: Open to densely shaded lodgepole pine or less frequently spruce-fir forests. Elev. 8000-10,500 ft.
