Look Alikes: C. angustior, C. brunnescens, C. disperma, and C. interior have spikes which are sessile and bisexual.

Flowering/Fruiting Period: Fruits in early July-early October.

Habitat: Calcareous fens. Elev. 8700-9200 ft.
