Adiantaceae (Maidenhair Fern Family)

Look Alikes: P. griffinii has a basal rosette through the flowering period, smaller stem leaves (2-3 cm long, 2 mm wide), and dense golden hairs in its corolla throat.

Flowering/Fruiting Period: June-mid July/late July.

Habitat: Pinyon-juniper woodlands and montane grasslands; coarse gravelly or rocky reddish soil with igneous bedrock. Also in cracks of large rock slabs. Elev. 6000-9500 ft.
