Saxifragaceae (Saxifrage Family)

Look Alikes: Only species in this genus in Colorado. Other Colorado species in Saxifragaceae have 10 stamens and are not typically cliff-dwelling.

Flowering/Fruiting Period: June-July/July-August.

Habitat: Hanging gardens; wet cliffs of various geology including lime-stone, shale, and quartzite. Elev. 7000-10,000 ft.

Distribution: Colorado endemic (Garfield, Gunnison, Montrose, Pitkin and Rio Blanco Cos.).
