Rosaceae (Rose Family)

Synonym: Potentilla effusa var. rupincola

Look Alikes: Nearly identical in appearance to P. effusa which is densely to sparsely pubescent, and has silvery or grayish-green lower leaf surfaces.

Flowering/Fruiting Period: Flowers mid-June-August.

Habitat: Granitic outcrops or thin, gravelly granitic soils with west or north exposure. Often associated with ponderosa or limber pine. May occur with Aletes humilis. Elev. 6900-10,500 ft.
