Polygonaceae (Knotweed Family)

Look Alikes: E. acaule has linear to oval leaves that are densely white cottony tomentose.

Flowering/Fruiting Period: Flowers late April-early July; peak flowering is usually in May.

Habitat: Mixed desert shrub and pinyon-juniper woodlands; on rocky outcrops, sedimentary gravels or clays. Elev. 5800-6300 ft.
