Loasaceae (Loasa Family)
Synonym: Mentzelia chrysantha
Look Alikes:
N. nuda has pale yellow flowers that bloom in June, and
larger fruits.
Flowering/Fruiting Period: July-early September/late August-early September. Flowers open in the evening.
Habitat:
Barren slopes of limestone, shale, or clay. Elev. 5120-5700 ft.

Distribution:
Colorado endemic. Fremont and Pueblo Cos., in the Arkan-sas
River Valley between Canon City and Pueblo.
