Look Alikes: Quite distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other taxa.

Flowering/Fruiting Period: Flowering: June-July/July.

Habitat: Dry rocky outcrops and sparsely vegetated slopes; especially on Greenhorn limestone and Dakota sandstone; in open pinyon-juniper woodlands and grasslands. Elev. 4000-5500 ft.
