Fabaceae (Pea Family)

Look Alikes: A. alpinus, A. aboriginum var. glabriusculus, and A. robbinsii var. minor are larger and stouter with stipitate pods. Pods of A. alpinus have much denser and longer black hairs. A. aboriginum var. glabriusculus has white flowers with a purple spot on the keel.

Flowering/Fruiting Period: July/July-August.

Habitat: Rocky slopes and turf hillsides above timberline. Usually on limestone. Elev. 11,400-13,200 ft.
