Synonym: Astragalus hamiltonii Look Alikes: A. lonchocarpus var. lonchocarpus does not have dilated leaflets.

Flowering/Fruiting Period: Flowers May-June.

Habitat: Gullied bluffs and ridges, in desert shrub and juniper communi-ties, in soft sandy clay soil overlying sandstone or shale. Elev. 5240-5800 ft.
