Fabaceae (Pea Family)

Synonyms: Homalobus detritalis; Astragalus spectabilis Look Alikes: A. calycosus var. scaposus has oval leaflets and smaller, densely strigose pods. A. spatulatus has smaller flowers and much shorter pods.

Flowering/Fruiting Period: Late April-early June/late May-June.

Habitat: Pinyon-juniper and mixed desert shrub communities; often rocky soils ranging from sandy clays to sandy loams. Alluvial terraces with cobbles. Elev. 5400-7200 ft.
