Fabaceae (Pea Family)

Look Alikes: A. alpinus has long pendant fruit. A. aboriginum is typically found at higher elevations (7-10,000 ft), is generally taller (10-30 cm), has longer leaflets (8-20 mm) and smaller flowers (8-11 mm long).

Flowering/Fruiting Period: Flowers May-June.

Habitat: Dry gravelly flats and hillsides, in sandy clay soils overlying granitic bedrock, usually among or under low sagebrush. Elev. 7500- 8500 ft.

Distribution: Colorado endemic (Gunnison and Saguache Cos.). Type locality in Pueblo Co. is almost certainly incorrect.
