Look Alikes: L. alpina has several caudices; and plants form a loose crown.

Flowering/Fruiting Period: April-May/late May-June.

Habitat: Barren, white shale outcrops of the Green River and Uinta Formations. Outcrops are exposed along drainages through erosion from downcutting of streams. Elev. 6000-6700 ft.
