Look Alikes: B. humilis has leafy stems; long, narrow fruits; and grayish white petals.

Flowering/Fruiting Period: July/late July-August.

Habitat: Calcareous substrates, especially Leadville Limestone; sparsely vegetated slopes above timberline with fine gravels or on disturbed sites associated with inactive mines. Elev. 12,000-13,000 ft.
