Asteraceae (Sunflower Family)

Synonym: Parthenium tetraneuris

Look Alikes: B. alpina has glabrous achenes and is only known from Weld Co. The three veins in the leaves of B. tetraneuris distinguish this species from similar cushion plants in its habitat.

Flowering/Fruiting Period: April-May/late May-June.

Habitat: Tops of cliffs and bluffs of a variety of rock types; in open pinyon-juniper stands. Elev. 4800-5600 ft.
