Look Alikes: O. alpina is finely puberulent at least on the fruits. O. bakeri has broad, toothed, often purplish bractlets.

Flowering/Fruiting Period: June-August/August.

Habitat: Granitic substrate above timberline. Elev. 12,000-13,000 ft.
